Project Overview
I was commissioned by author Xaneria Ann to create a set of six cohesive book cover illustrations for the Embers of Riyzon fantasy series. The goal was to build a distinct visual identity that could evolve across multiple titles while maintaining thematic unity through color, framing, and light direction.
Each cover illustration was designed around a symbolic element central to its respective story — fire, earth, water, and other magical motifs — all bound by ornate, glowing frames to reflect the series’ mystical tone. I also explored various typographic treatments to complement the artwork and establish early direction for future branding use.
This project allowed me to blend narrative-driven illustration with compositional design thinking, ensuring the series communicated both individuality and cohesion within a fantasy publishing context.
